Bullock Cart With Improved Bearing and Wheel Designs

Description:
A bullock cart with improved wheel bearing and wheel design has been developed. It is based on flitched beam concept and simple techniques which the local artisans can themselves apply for fabrication. It is comparatively cheaper and carries more load than any other conventional bullock cart. It can be run by 1 or 2 bullocks by simple adjustment in the fixing arrangement of carry beams. The bearings are self lubricated type and are dust proof.

Special Features:
The yoke and harness design in the improved cart are such that animals carry the load without strain. This increases the pull of the animals to some extent. As the bearing are of journal type and can be made locally in the villages they are regularized by farming community and reduced the wastage of draft power. It also enhances the load carrying capacity of cart.
